Hoop-la!

Had to drop what I was doing to pop a quick post on. Change of plan since last night - I have to go in to the office this afternoon and my mind was on how much time I have before leaving and forgot what day it is. Merrily typing away until I remembered it's Wednesday. Blog day!

Crash!

Fortunately, I have my bike back after taking another spill last Thursday on the way home. Went over a large branch (?) on a dark part of the footpath and it tipped the bike and I hit the ground really hard. Could barely walk when I managed to get off the floor since main impact was my hip. The bruise is pretty spectacular. Luckily my previous landlady lived fairly close so once I accepted cycling was not do-able, I used my bike as a crutch and limped to her place and left it there then hobbled home via 2 buses. At least after 2 days I could walk more comfortably so collected it at the weekend.

Finishing touches

Finished hoop leap girl and it now has a second coat of white and some bits of red on the hoop. I wanted some fine gold thread but can't remember which box it was stashed in, but I did find a heavier weight one by chance so used that instead. Final coat of sealant and that should do it.

Street dancer has a bit more hair added but the face needs repainting since I couldn't avoid white from the hair touching it. It also has extra 'fabric' added around the base of the leggings.

Rock guy now has some 'amethyst's to add to the base. Really avoiding having to pull out stuff to get to my craft crate and find some chain for the hoop (unless I stick with some kind of twine) and the crystals for rock guy. Living in a partially packed state is getting annoying.

Since I have to take the last of my leave this month I'll have time to sort myself out and arrange the room a bit better. And keep more of my art materials accessible for the time being. You never know what you're going to need.
