Summers end

Alrightee, so this is another quickly typed post. The Corner Gallery in Carshalton Beeches (just by the station) has it's formal opening this evening, and as the yard clearer and now also an artist with work on the shelves, I'm invited! The evening is mainly customers only and it starts at 7pm but I've got to set up for work tomorrow as well so it'll be mad mix of getting things done and grabbing kitchen time when I can.

I'm staying on alert in case Jackie needs an extra pair of hands to set up this afternoon, but this morning is finishing a triptych for the weekend. Managed to snag 3 nights in a bed and breakfast in Torquay at a manageable price. Man, the cost these days is completely ridiculous. This is Torquay not Cannes. Anyhow, really looking forward to catching up with my artist friends there, inhaling the sea air plus one of the family members is about 40 minutes away so we're going to meet up. There's also a birthday the day I arrive hence the painting...My phone charge has croaked so if I can get enough zap to take a work in progress I'll post it.

Change of season

Meanwhile, the elementals sculpture theme is ongoing. I'm planning a Spirit of Autumn since it's now September. The last week has been a mix of cloudy with lovely warm periods but the mornings definitely have a chill about them. Summer appears to be over. Feels like I never made much of it and the seaside escape is much needed time away though I'm not much bothered what the weather does.

So, I had a few unfinished pieces in a box I wasn't sure about. Now I see they'd work well with the spirit theme so I'm tweaking and finishing them. The three I did are posted in the Gallery now. Haven't put them in Folksy shop since it's easier to have things in just one place at a time.

Right, let's see how much charge I've got...okay there we are. Just roughly blocked in colours and shapes. Needs some refining and balancing out to make it work. Good thing acrylic dries quickly.
